PHYSICAL SCIENCE

As part of the B.Ed curriculum, our college conducted a field trip on 25-03-2022 at priyadarshini planetarium.This optional based field trip was included in the community based practical programme of the first semester syllabus.  The main criteria of this filed were observation and experience.  The field trip for physical science optional students had conducted in the Priyadarshini  planetarium  trivandrum. This one day programme aimed to develop critical thinking,scientific attitude,aesthetic sense, imagination and creativity in students and thereby mould them to be an effective teacher in physical science. It was for this purpose that the students along with the optional teachers attended the field trip to Trivandrum. All the students were divided into two groups.Our first group had  58 students from English, Natural Science, Physical Science  optionals. The college union was inaugurated today named as Dheeksha. Jishnu Vijay is the college chairman and kesiya T Biju is the arts club secretary. July. A,associate prof. Of Govt. College for women was the chief guest. The arts club inauguration is done by the violinist Anunand. S.Finally it was a nice day.                                    

       On the behalf of Dhwani College union "Sadgamaya" arts festival was conducted in our college.        All the student teachers were divided into three groups. Hamsadhwani is the first group. Chakravakam is the second group. Third group is Indolam. Both juniors and seniors were included in the groups. I am in the Chakravakam group.  Writing competitions were held on 15th and 16th of March.  Arts fest was officially inagurated  o n 17th March 2022 . College union chairman welcomed all and then Rev. Fr Zakariya Ramban inaugurated the fest. Later Riju John sir, staff secretary gave felicitation. Dr. Leena Wahid,  the staff coordinator of arts festival  also gave felicitation for the programme. Finally, Stemi Mirriya Sajan ,the arts club secretary gave vote of thanks.  Sadgamaya arts fest ended on 18th March with wide variety of programmes.            Today workshop of art was conducted by our college. Sri. N Gopalakrishnan sir was the guest who taught us to prepare different kinds of teaching - learning materials from cheaply available substances to make our future by becoming a resourceful teacher. The session was started sharply at 10.00 am. Riju sir introduced Gopalakrishnan sir to us and welcomed him. What is the importance of creative skills to a teacher, how it can be applied in real classroom situation. All these kind of questions were resolved through this session. The session was winded up at 4 o'clock in the evening by giving a feedback of this workshop by a student teacher. The entire session was wonderful. We enjoyed and at the same time learned a lot                                           

          Mathematics department had celebrated the National Pi Day on march 14. They light upon the history of Pi and its importance. They also conducted quiz competition in three rounds for other departments. We the Physical Science department won the competition. Dr. Leena Vahid, Head of Mathematics Department and our college's nightingale, sang a song for us. The student - teachers from mathematics department performed dance by emphasising the importance of Mathematics. it was a delightful day.

  March 8, the International Women's Day was grandly celebrated by our college union Dhwani. The theme of this year's International Women's Day is: " Gender equality today for a sustainable tomorrow." Dr Rajini Athmaja, professor of DB college, sasthamcotta was invited as the chief guest. programme was started with a formal session.    All the student- teachers were actively participated in different programs. We the Physical Science Department gave a tribute to various eminent personalities in different fields. it was a wonderful and an unforgettable day for me. I'm proud to be a woman. 

  Observation of demonstration classes were conducted on 2nd March 2022. It was scheduled after the internal examination. Physical Science students were divided into two group which had 12 students each. I was in the second group. Demonstration classes were took by our seniors.   I got an opportunity to observe the classes of Neelima, Shilpa and Bianca. First two classes were on the topic related to Chemistry and the last one was the Physics class. Each student-teacher took a 30 minutes class exactly same as that of a real classroom situation.                 All three demonstration classes were very effective and informative. They used many skills during their teaching sessions.    They included experiments, different kinds of activities as a teaching tool in the class room. Learner centric education was the main attraction of the three classes.                   After the observation of demonstration classes, there was a reflection session in which a representative from each departme
